Interesting. Haven't seen too many Asian images of gods or goddesses taking spirits, maybe none. Is it a shinto thing?

I don't know. It's hauntingly beautiful - after I posted it I stared at it for about 20 minutes solid while thinking back on all the videos of Kamikaze attacks, all the AARs and our simulations and events in the S3s.

Actually - the source site - Kamikaze Images (Toad's post on AGW) was a great find. Those stories are incredible.
